About the Opportunity
As a Welder within the City Operations Program, you’ll put your trade skills to work keeping the City of Adelaide’s plant, equipment and infrastructure safe, reliable and ready for use. From repairs and maintenance through to keeping equipment in good working order, you’ll play an important hands-on role in keeping our operations moving.
Working as part of a practical and collaborative team, you’ll carry out welding, repairs and maintenance in line with relevant technical standards, safety requirements and established procedures. You’ll also help ensure our plant and equipment remains safe and available, while minimising downtime wherever possible.
You’ll take pride in the quality of your work, keep accurate records and paperwork, and communicate effectively with your team, customers and members of the public. You’ll also contribute to a safe and positive workplace and support the delivery of the City of Adelaide’s Business Plan.

About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Trade qualification Welder / boilermaker.
- Demonstrate a sound knowledge of a variety of welding and fabrication techniques.
- Ability to read technical drawings and diagrams.
- Self-motivated, results oriented and able to initiate actions to ensure objectives are achieved
- Knowledge of employee and employer responsibilities under the Work Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
- Demonstrated high level skills in dealing confidently and courteously with people both internally and externally.
