About the Opportunity
As part of our City Operations leadership team, the Manager, City Maintenance plays an important role in keeping Adelaide's infrastructure, facilities and public spaces safe, functional and well maintained for our community. This role provides leadership across two core service areas: Trades, Workshop and Facilities Services, and Infrastructure Maintenance, bringing together diverse teams to deliver high-quality services across the city.
Reporting to the Associate Director City Operations, you'll lead and support a large operational workforce responsible for maintaining roads, footpaths, stormwater assets, buildings, facilities, urban elements, plant and equipment. Success in the role will come from creating an environment where people feel supported, accountable and empowered to deliver great outcomes, while maintaining a strong focus on safety, service excellence and continuous improvement.
You'll work closely with internal and external stakeholders to plan and deliver maintenance programs, manage contracts and budgets, provide strategic advice, and contribute to projects and initiatives that enhance service delivery across the city. The role also shapes workforce capability, improves systems and processes, and builds strong relationships that support the effective delivery of City Operations services.
This is a broad and varied leadership opportunity that calls for someone who can balance operational delivery with long-term planning, bring people together around a shared vision, and lead teams through change with confidence and authenticity. If you're a people-focused leader who enjoys developing capability, fostering strong relationships and driving continuous improvement, you'll find plenty of scope to make a meaningful contribution to the future of City Operations.
