About the Opportunity
As part of the Horticulture team, the Horticulture Tradesperson plays a key role in shaping and maintaining the City’s Park Lands, gardens, biodiversity sites and associated facilities. The position supports the delivery of the team’s Business Plan and contributes to projects that enhance the beauty, sustainability and functionality of Adelaide’s green spaces.
This role focuses on delivering high-quality horticultural work in line with City of Adelaide standards, while supporting the team with practical knowledge, contributing to a positive team culture, and helping ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly. The Horticulture Tradesperson Turf Maintenance is a part of a team that mow 540ha of turf and supports Park Lands teams that care for 776ha of open space in the Park Lands and edge over 151km of turf.
With a focus on customer service and safety, the position engages in and supports workplace health and safety practices, equal opportunity, cultural diversity and ethical standards. This role also involves the care and use of horticultural equipment and personal protective gear, while actively contributing to a positive and safe working environment.

About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A trade qualification in Horticulture or a relevant discipline.
- Experience in providing advice and solutions to a range of turf management issues
- Relevant experience in Turf Management/ Horticultural maintenance.
- Experience/licensed in the operation of large and minor plant associated with Horticultural maintenance.
- Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to effectively liaise and engage with members of the public and community groups.
