About the Opportunity
As an Urban Elements Maintenance Team Member, you will maintain and care for some of the city’s most visible and well-loved public assets. From monuments and public art through to playground equipment, park furniture and fencing, this role helps ensure the spaces people use every day remain safe, functional and welcoming.

 

 

Working as part of a collaborative team, you will carry out planned maintenance, repairs and installation of a wide range of urban infrastructure across the city. This includes supporting the delivery of both maintenance and capital works projects, as well as assisting with materials coordination and the day-to-day tasks required to keep operations running smoothly.

 

 

A unique part of the role is supporting the daily monitoring and operation of the Torrens Weir control system. You will help oversee system performance, carry out preventative maintenance and repairs, and when required manually operate the weir gates to manage water flow.

 

 

The role also contributes to the preventative cleaning and maintenance of the SAPOL and City of Adelaide CCTV network, helping ensure important public safety infrastructure remains operational.

 

 

Alongside the practical work, you will assist with administrative tasks such as record keeping and gathering information that supports long-term maintenance planning. Delivering excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders is also an important part of the role, as is working safely and in line with relevant policies, procedures and legislative requirements.

About You
To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Sound practical knowledge of the operations of a Works Depot, practices and procedures in maintenance and general yard duties.
  • Ability to carry out a multitude of trade related maintenance tasks associated with the day to day management of public infrastructure. 
  • Self-motivated, results oriented and able to initiate actions to ensure objectives are achieved.
  • Capacity to work independently to complete designated tasks.
  • An unencumbered driver's license.
