About the Opportunity
As part of the Arboriculture team, the Arboriculture Tradesperson plays a hands-on role in shaping and caring for Adelaide’s tree canopy across the city and Park Lands. This role is about more than maintenance, it’s about helping our community enjoy safe, healthy and thriving green spaces.
Working alongside a skilled and supportive team, you’ll contribute to the delivery of the team’s Business Plan and take pride in performing high-quality Arboriculture work in line with Australian Standards and the Corporation’s Tree Pruning Standards. You’ll also have the opportunity to share your expertise, support others, and play an active role in projects that improve how we manage and maintain our trees.
This is a role where teamwork, communication and a strong sense of care for the environment come together. Every day offers variety, from tree care and pruning to advising colleagues and contributing to improvement initiatives, all while helping to keep Adelaide’s Park Lands and streetscapes looking their best.

About You
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- Certificate III in Arboriculture.
- WP high risk licence (elevated work platform above 11 m).
- MR truck licence at a minimum, or HR desirable.
- Chainsaw ticket.
- Clear understanding of Australian Standard 4973 – Pruning Amenity of Trees. Demonstrated experience in the operations of all aspects of Arboriculture ensuring best practice is achieved.
- Ability to identify and investigate issues and propose solutions within the area of responsibility.
- Ability to anticipate problems, analyse situations and exercise sound judgment and initiative to develop practical strategies and procedures to resolve issues with limited direction within area of responsibility.
