About the Opportunity

As Team Leader, Parking Compliance, you'll lead a team that plays an important role in keeping Adelaide safe, accessible and moving efficiently. Through a balanced approach to education, compliance and customer service, you'll help ensure our streets, parking spaces and public areas are managed fairly and effectively for residents, visitors and businesses alike.

 

 

Leading a team of Parking & Information Officers, you'll provide coaching, guidance and support while overseeing the delivery of day-to-day compliance activities across the city. You'll create an environment where your team can thrive, building capability, driving performance and fostering a strong customer-focused culture.

 

 

This role offers the opportunity to influence how parking compliance services are delivered in a Capital City context. You'll use data, insights and emerging technology to identify improvements, enhance service delivery and ensure resources are aligned to community needs. Working closely with internal stakeholders, government agencies and industry partners, you'll help shape initiatives that support both current operational demands and future city outcomes.

 

 

With responsibility for team leadership, operational planning, budgeting, reporting and legislative compliance, you'll balance community expectations, service delivery outcomes and Council's statutory obligations. Whether you're supporting your team through complex situations, implementing service improvements or contributing strategic advice, you'll play a key role in delivering positive outcomes for the city and the people who use it every day.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

 

 

  • Experience in providing effective leadership which continually enhances and builds the team’s capability and productivity.
  • Experience leading large operational functions that span rosters and shifts
  • Experience in developing positive relationships and consulting, negotiating and communicating with all levels of management and staff, government agencies, stakeholders and the community, both verbally and in writing.  Working knowledge of Local Government Act, Expiation of Offences Act, Road Traffic Act (1961); Relevant Australian Standards and Austroads Guidelines, the Australian Road Rules (1999); and other legislation or willingness to acquire.
  • Experience navigating complex regulatory environments whereby legislation, public safety and community expectations can conflict.
  • Experience leading teams through periods of technological innovation.
  • Experience using or interpreting data to drive evidence-based decisions.
