About the Opportunity
As part of the Finance & Procurement program, the Senior Finance Business Partner partners with leaders across the organisation to support informed, transparent and strategic decision-making.
Working closely with Directors and their portfolios, this role is embedded in the business, providing trusted financial advice, context and insight to help shape priorities, manage risks and deliver outcomes for the community. It’s less about traditional “business development” and more about building strong internal relationships, understanding operational challenges, and working side-by-side with leaders to navigate them.
You’ll lead the delivery of management accounting, performance reporting and financial planning across your portfolios, including budgets, forecasts and long-term financial plans. This includes translating financial information into meaningful insights, supporting leaders to understand their financial position, and helping them make confident, well-informed decisions.
The role also supports project and program delivery through financial governance, business case analysis and funding advice, while contributing to broader organisational initiatives such as service reviews, process improvements and cost management. Alongside this, you’ll play a leadership role within the team, guiding and developing others while helping to drive a consistent, high-quality finance partnering approach across the organisation.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with people, influencing through insight, and being a genuine partner to the business - someone who can bridge the gap between finance and operations to support better outcomes.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Significant senior accounting experience incorporating analysis and problem-solving principles within a medium to large organisation.
- Significant working knowledge of accounting and business disciplines including, but not limited to, management and cost accounting, statutory reporting, complex budget development and financial management system improvements.
- Able to demonstrate prior experience in their ability to identify trends in data and highlight areas requiring focus.
