About the Opportunity
As part of the City Culture Program, the Public Art Project Officer plays a key role in bringing creativity to life across Adelaide. This role provides coordination, administration, and project support to deliver the City of Adelaide’s Cultural Policy and Public Art Action Plan, helping to create vibrant, inclusive, and inspiring public spaces.
Reporting to the Project Lead, Public Art, you’ll support a diverse range of projects from early planning through to installation and celebration. You’ll collaborate with artists, creative practitioners, and community groups, offering guidance and support to help bring ideas to fruition while navigating Council processes and funding opportunities.
You’ll also assist in managing budgets, documentation, and reporting, ensuring projects align with strategic goals and run smoothly from start to finish. Maintaining the City’s Public Art and Civic Collections, coordinating advisory groups, and contributing to promotional activities will form part of your varied and rewarding day-to-day work.

About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience in the delivery of arts & cultural programs and projects.
- Sound knowledge of arts, cultural and community organisations and knowledge of arts & cultural networks and funding sources particularly contemporary visual and public art.
- Experience in supporting the development and maintenance of relationships and partnerships.
- Sound knowledge of Collections and principles of Collections Management.
- Demonstrated experience in providing administrative and project management support.
- Strong organisational skills and a demonstrated ability to plan and operate efficiently under pressure to complete work.
