About the Opportunity
As part of the Finance and Procurement team, the Property & Information Officer is responsible for the day-to-day management of the property database, maintaining accurate site, title and building information to ensure data reflects current and actual details. The role also plays an integral part in compiling and maintaining the Voter’s Roll, ensuring voting entitlements are accurately recorded and up to date.
The Property & Information Officer allocates and interprets street numbers in accordance with Council policy, updates ownership and occupancy details, and provides specialist advice on property, rating and voter-related matters. The role involves interpreting complex ownership structures, tenancy schedules and land divisions, undertaking inspections, and liaising with the Lands Titles Office to ensure property records remain current.
A key part of this position includes building strong working relationships with property developers, lawyers, managing agents, ratepayers and occupiers to ensure tenancy information is correctly maintained within the Pathway database. The role also supports others across the organisation by providing training and guidance on the property database, auditing information for accuracy, and assisting with compliance matters.
In addition, the Property & Information Officer contributes to projects that improve data quality and business processes, supports the planning department with compliance activities, and provides regular updates to the GIS Officer to ensure changes are accurately reflected in the City Map database.

About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Display a sound knowledge of interpreting and applying relevant Policies and Operating Guidelines.
- Demonstrating an understanding of the Property Councils method of measurement and how to apply these principles to different land use codes through the correct interpretation and measurement of building plans.
- Understanding of and implementation of the Local Government Act 1999, the City of Adelaide Rating Policy and Street Numbering Policy.
- Ability to develop creative solutions, problem solve and achieve innovative outcomes that enhance the delivery of services provided by the programs.
- A high level of written and verbal communication skills, including tact and diplomacy and able to display such skills to all levels within the organisation and greater community.
