About the Opportunity 

As part of the Park Lands, Policy & Sustainability Program, the Social Planning Project Officer plays an important role in supporting projects that help make Adelaide a more inclusive, connected and welcoming city for everyone.

 

 

In this role, you’ll be part of a small, passionate team that works closely with the community to understand needs, remove barriers, and create opportunities for people to participate fully in city life. You’ll also support the Access and Inclusion Advisory Panel, helping its members share their voices and experiences to shape decisions that make a real difference.

 

 

Your days will be varied from coordinating social planning projects and preparing reports, to collaborating with community groups, government partners and internal teams. You’ll help bring ideas to life, support engagement activities, and contribute to initiatives that promote access, inclusion and social sustainability across our city.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience working with communities, including knowledge on the diversity of barriers to participation and inclusion.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management.
  • Knowledge and demonstrable experience of community development, social justice and social inclusion principles.
  • Knowledge of community engagement principles and their application.
  • Experience in providing a broad range of administrative services at an advanced level and with high levels of accuracy.
  • Sound understanding of general urban and social planning issues relevant to local government including strategy, policy and social planning.
