About the Opportunity
In this influential role you will provide strategic and operational guidance, advice and support in relation to employee, employment and industrial matters across various areas of a diverse business. You will build the capability of our leaders at all levels to support and develop our workforce to ensure performance and delivery.
You will collaborate with all levels of leadership and employees across our organisation and provide expert advice on a broad range of HR matters. Our business is diverse and so are our workforce needs, therefore, you will need to be agile in your approach to support our people and our organisation. You will also contribute towards a broad range of people projects and assist in the development of policies and procedures.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a committed team and play a pivotal role in supporting our business by providing key advice to our people that will enable them to deliver for our City.
Please note that the formal title for this position is People Services Business Partner in line with the naming conventions of the City of Adelaide.

About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Demonstrated Business Partnering experience across varied stakeholder groups.
- Sound experience in providing strategic advice and solutions on a range of complex HR and ER matters based upon your strong understanding of employment law and ability to interpret Awards & Enterprise Agreements.
- Confident in coaching and influencing managers to drive people performance
- Demonstrated consulting and relationship management experience at all levels.
- The ability to ascertain and understand customer needs and utilising this information to determine an appropriate course of action, building on the ideas of others.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- The ability to act as a “Change Champion” and to effectively communicate with and influence others towards acceptance and understanding of change programs.
- Proven experience in project management of People initiatives including engagement and consultation.
- Experience with effectively using a variety of different HR systems.
