About the Opportunity
This is a pivotal leadership role within our Governance and Strategy Program, where you’ll shape how projects are delivered across the City of Adelaide. As Manager, Project Management Office, you’ll lead the development and ongoing evolution of our Project Management Framework, working closely with stakeholders across the organisation to embed consistent, practical and high-quality project practices.
You’ll guide and support a capable PMO team, creating an environment where strong governance, clear processes and continuous improvement come together to deliver real outcomes for the community. Partnering closely with leaders, as well as Finance and Information Management, you’ll ensure projects are well-scoped, effectively managed and aligned to the City of Adelaide’s strategic priorities.
A key part of this role is influencing and uplifting project management capability across the organisation. You’ll establish clear governance structures, strengthen reporting and assurance processes, and provide training and support that builds confidence in project delivery. With a focus on continuous improvement, you’ll enhance methodologies, tools and frameworks while identifying practical solutions to organisational challenges.
This opportunity is well suited to someone who enjoys bringing structure to complexity, building strong relationships and driving meaningful outcomes.
This role has become available as the substantive role holder has been successful in securing an internal secondment.

About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience in providing effective leadership which continually enhances and builds the team’s capability and performance, and supports the organisations project management approach.
- The ability to work with a wide variety of stakeholders, and to influence and guide their approaches to project management.
- Knowledge of Project Management and the associated standards, best practice and legislative environment.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver Project Management Frameworks in medium to large organisations.
- Experience in managing project management systems, understanding project related data and information and presenting/sharing this information and reports with a broad audience.
- Possibly had a background in construction project management, but you could have a background in IT, Governance, Risk, Engineering, or other related areas.

Please be advised this is a full-time, one year fixed term opportunity with a starting salary at the Level 9 Classification between $141,780 - $147,401 + 12% superannuation.
