About the Opportunity 

As Investment Attraction Advisor, you will play a key role in positioning the City of Adelaide as a compelling destination for business investment. With a focus on key growth sectors, you’ll design and implement business-to-business strategies that attract South Australian, National, and International companies to invest in our city.


This role is both strategic and hands-on where you will collaborate with State and Federal agencies, universities, innovation precincts, and industry bodies to identify and convert investment opportunities. From conducting sector scans and crafting compelling proposals to guiding inbound investors through local networks and processes, you’ll be instrumental in driving economic growth and fostering business relationships.


You will also work closely with AEDA’s Business , Economic Research, and Property Advisors to align market intelligence and real estate opportunities with investor needs. Whether it’s supporting business establishment or expansion or activating  the City with new retail and tourism product, your work will help shape the future economic landscape of Adelaide.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Broad understanding of business needs and drivers across multiple industry sectors.
  • Experience in researching and identifying industry sectors/businesses to target and attract.
  • Sound judgment in the development of investment proposals and business cases, and the economic, financial analysis and evaluation of complex proposals.
  • Ability to prepare high level reports and briefings as required, and presentations to senior management.
  • Experience in shaping strategic thinking and providing strategic advice, including through the demonstrated use of high-level analytical and problem-solving skills that advance the Agency’s objectives.
  • A demonstrated commitment to internal and external customers demonstrated through the provision of timely, reliable and expert advice on matters within area of responsibility.
