About the Opportunity
In this role, you will take the lead on providing technical advice and guidance to a wide range of stakeholders, ensuring Council’s roads, kerbs, footpaths and bridge assets are safe, functional and aligned with strategic asset plans. Working closely with Asset Planners, City Operations, Engineering, Project Delivery and external partners, you will coordinate operational asset management activities and help deliver both maintenance and capital works projects.

 

Your day-to-day will involve on-site scoping, design reviews, cost estimations and defect inspections, as well as supporting project managers with technical assessments and stakeholder engagement. You’ll monitor contracts, budgets and deal directly with engineering consultants, ensuring all works meet required standards and legislative compliance.

 

Beyond the operational, you’ll play a key role in driving continuous improvement from refining maintenance management systems and data capture, to identifying innovative technologies and best practice approaches. This is a hands-on opportunity to contribute to the safety, efficiency and longevity of Council’s infrastructure while collaborating with internal teams and the community to deliver meaningful outcomes.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience and high level of proficiency in investigations and design of infrastructure projects, including in the delivery of quality assured contract documentation to meet the highest industry standards and statutory regulations.
  • Substantial experience in the preparation of project briefs, procurement and contract management of engineering consultants.
  • Experience in the development of methodologies and procedures associated with quality assurance systems and reviewing, assessing and making recommendations on performance of benchmark standards associated with design and construction projects.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer based asset/project management software, scheduling systems, computer based financial and information reporting systems.
