About the Opportunity

 

Drive the insights that shape the future of the City of Adelaide.

 

 

As AEDA’s Advisor, Economic Research, you’ll lead a small team to analyse economic trends, uncover opportunities, and deliver sharp, influential insights for the AEDA Board, Lord Mayor, senior leaders, government, city businesses, investors and key industry partners.

 

 

In collaboration with leadership you’ll set and steer AEDA’s research agenda, manage high-impact data projects, produce trusted reports, and be the go-to expert on the city economy.

 

 

You will provide insights to the business community and government leaders on the strengths and challenges of the City of Adelaide’s economy.

 

 

This role is perfect for someone who can turn complex data into clear stories, present confidently to senior audiences, and influence strategic decisions across the city.

 

 

If you’re a proactive economic thinker with strong communication skills and a passion for understanding consumer behaviour, AEDA is looking for an experienced economic researcher who can understand the performance of the city’s economy and use information to inform the strategic direction of the city’s economic development.

 

 

An amazing opportunity to advance the economic research team by automating data processes and adopting artificial intelligence. About you

 

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Ability to provide effective leadership and guidance to a small team, with a passion for mentoring.
  • A strong understanding of the current economic environment and its influence on the City’s economy.
  • Experience in providing advice at a complex political level.
  • Presentation and public speaking skills and an ability to represent AEDA at a senior level with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in:
    • Collecting, analysing, managing and reporting qualitative and quantitative data and economic forecasting 
    • Identify key issues and presenting recommendations in a concise and logical manner.
    • Preparing professional, robust and easy to digest reports for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Data visualisation, presentation and story-telling
